Chelsea boss has confirm that two key players will be missing in their clash with Manchester United in Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Frank Lampard as delivered some injury news ahead of their encounter with United. A lot of injury worries for Chelsea early on in the season and it doesn’t appear to get better with the list adding up.
He’s been without the likes of N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger at some stage, while he’s not been able to call upon Ruben Loftus-Cheek yet.
Lampard lost both kante and Andreas Christensen to injury during the international break and also Ross Barkely suffered an ankle injury against Newcastle 10 days ago.
Antonio Rudiger is also a big doubt as Lampard has revealed the latest injury news during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
“You want me to name the team? I have to be aware that we haven’t changed that much. That’s my prerogative and the team is going pretty well.
“This game may be an opportunity for the players not playing – not to do with age, more to do with minutes in games – might mean some of the more experienced ones playing.
(Kante fit?) “No.
Kante was spotted in a Chelsea’s training session ahead of the weekend’s win over Burnley. The Frenchman was seen taking part in a ‘rondo’ alongside his teammates. Also involved in a session last Friday was Rudiger, although he trained with the Under-23’s.
The German has not been included a matchday squad since limping being replaced at half-time against Wolves last month with Lampard revealing that the defender is making good progress.
