Barcelona vs Chelsea Preview: Team news, Predicted XIs and Prediction

Frank Lampard will look to win his first big match of the pre-season campaign against Barcelona in the Rakuten Cup. The Chelsea under new boss Lampard haven’t impressed and with a recent loss to Kawasaki Frontale, a lot of Chelsea fans will be keeping tabs on this one.

Barcelona will be playing their first pre-season and will expected to hand debut to the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and Neto. Nine players from Barca B have been included in the 26-man squad on the tour and they will be eager to make good impression if given the chance to play.

A number key players including Lionel Messi, Luiz Suarez, Phillipe Coutinho and Authur Melo will be missing from the game due to their participation in the Copa America

Chelsea will also be without Ngolo Kante who is suffering from a recurring knee problem. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tammy Abraham could be facing a fitness race to play this game having missed out on their previous game due to illness.

Long term absentees, ​Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, ​Willian and ​Antonio Rudiger will also be missing as they continue their rehabilitation.
