The 32nd edition of Africa Cup of Nations is in it semi- final stage and it promises to be more exciting as Algeria and Nigeria battle for a spot in final to face whoever win between Senegal and Tunisia in the other semi final tie.
The Desert Foxes defeated Ivory coast in their quarter final match on penalties. Having seen the impressive attacking and defensive display of the Algerians so far this tournament with scoring 10 goals and conceding just one, we might say they stand a better chance in this tie.
Super eagle of Nigerian have also earned their their place in this quarter final tie after an impressive comeback against Cameroon in the rounds of 16 and also their triumph against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Nigeria have slowly gained confidence and momentum in this tournament so far regardless of the lost to Madagascar in the final group stage round of matches. They have scored 7 goals and conceded 5 on their road to semi-final.
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 1-1 stalemate back in 2017 during the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, but Fifa overturned the result and gave the North Africans a 3-0 win as punishment after Nigeria fielded an ineligible player.
This game is a tough one to predict but I think it will end in a draw.
